What cookies, analytics and similar technologies Daisy Books uses, why, and how to control them.
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, like local storage, work in the same way. They let a site remember things between pages or visits.
Regular visitors get no cookies from us at all. The only cookie we set is for shop staff signed in to the back office.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-* (Supabase auth) | Keep shop staff signed in to the backoffice. Not set for regular visitors. | Strictly necessary | Session |
If you select “Accept” on our banner, we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies or store anything in your browser.
For each page you view, your browser sends Vercel the page address, the site that linked you to it, your browser, operating system, device type and country. Vercel doesn't store your IP address. Visits are told apart using a code that is reset every day, so you can't be followed from one day to the next. We only see totals, never anything about you as a person. We remove order references from page addresses before they're sent, and we don't use analytics for advertising.
Local storage is covered by the same law as cookies. These items stay in your browser and are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so they don't need your consent. They are never used for analytics or advertising.
daisy-books:basket — Remembers the books in your basket.daisy-books:currency — Remembers the currency you chose to see prices in.daisy-books:cookie-consent — Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics. When you first visit, we ask whether you accept anonymous analytics. It stays off unless you select “Accept”. If you reject it or ignore the banner, no analytics data is sent.
You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Rejecting analytics won't affect how the site works.
